FAQ
As environmental educators, we need to have 20/20 vision to help others get outside, understand environmental concerns, and rejuvenate ourselves in the outdoors. The Environmental Education Association of Indiana (EEAI) supports this as part of the annual EEAI Conference, coming to you virtually in 2020!
Who is this conference for?
As the mission of EEAI is “to work cooperatively to promote opportunities that will educate, motivate, and inspire the citizens of Indiana to conserve natural resources and meet the needs of our society while maintaining a healthy environment now and in the future,” we invite any interested participants to join us for the conference around the following tracks:
• Nature Based Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Environmental Education
• K-12 Formal Education
• Non Formal Environmental Education
• Administration
Preschool, early childhood, K-12, environmental educators, and nature enthusiasts will enjoy the conference.
How do I register?
Find the link to registration here. You can print and send in a paper copy or register online.
What does my registration include?
Your registration for the virtual conference includes access to live sessions from November 6-8, 2020, and then recordings of all sessions that aired live during the event. Sessions will be available whenever you want to watch or re-watch for one year after the event date.
What technology will I need to access the conference?
Participants will want an Internet connection. We will be using Whova as a conference host, with both a mobile or web app. Find more details about Whova here.
Can I share my registration with colleagues?
Each attendee must register separately, and registrations cannot be shared. In addition, professional development certificates can only be generated associated with the name on your account.
Help us keep the conference secure by not posting or sharing the session links with anyone. All participants should register, log in to the conference website, and view sessions exclusively on session pages.
Are there social options for the conference?
The EEAI conference is known for its social connections and options. We will still host the song contest, host a social hour, and have a few in person field trip options (COVID regulations permitting) across the state. The Whova option also makes it easy to connect with others with similar interests and set up rooms to chat within the app. We encourage participants to fill out their Whova profile to facilitate connections.
Where can I see a list of sessions?
Preview a taste of the presentations and tracks on the conference webpage. Watch for a detailed schedule of when speakers will present by early October.
Can I access the conference after the event?
Yes! Recordings of the sessions will be available in Whova within a few days of the live session. These recordings and the Whova conference set up will be available for one year after the conference.
Are scholarships available?
Yes! If you are an educator in need, please contact Paul McAfee at eeai@eeai.org about scholarship opportunities.
Can I get a professional development certificate for attending the conference?
Yes! Information will be forthcoming about a certificate of attendance to the conference.
