Merry Lea Environmental Center - $0          


Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College is an 1,189-acre nature sanctuary and environmental education center located near Wolf Lake, Indiana. It is also home to the college's Master of Arts in Environmental Education (MAEE) program. In this tour you will learn about their approach to offering environmental education programming while training the next generation of educators through interactive experiences with MAEE alumni in Merry Lea's wetlands, nature preschool classroom, and teaching farm. 


We will be out for 2.5 hours - 3 hours be prepared for any weather!



Must register before October 21.


Participants are encouraged to carpool to the location. 40 min drive




Gene Stratton-Porter Cabin - $7/person or $6/person for seniors (60+)


(Rome City)/Wildflower Woods


A multi-talented woman, Gene Stratton-Porter was not only a best-selling author but an avid conservationist. Gene's Cabin at Wildflower Woods is nestled on the shores of Sylvan Lake amongst 148 acres of fields, woods, and beautiful formal gardens. Join us for a tour of her home and learn about Gene's love for nature. 



Participants are encouraged to carpool to the location. 40 min drive 




Tippy Creek Winery - $15 for a flight and additional for cheese and crackers


Join us for brief history of Tippy Creek Winery and learn more about the wine making process. Afterwards, you will be able to taste any of their wine flights. Trained wine servers will lead guests through the list of wines, ranging from dry to sweet, dessert, and sparkling. Additional wine purchases beyond tasting fees are not included. Flights of beer, cider, and slushies are available in limited quantities. 



Participants are encouraged to carpool to the location. 15 min drive




Camp Mack Nature Hike 


Using I-Naturalist and traditional plant identification skills, join Purdue students Payton Ginestra and Adrian Corbett for a hike through the woods of Camp Mack. Along with hands-on experience using I-Naturalist and Seek, hikers will identify native flora and fauna and learn about forest management practices and ecosystem services.


The hike will be ~ 1 hr and will be an easy hike.
