EEAI is teaming up with EcoRise, the North American Association for Environmental Education, and other NAAEE affiliates in the Midwest on Gen:Thrive, an exciting project to conduct a comprehensive landscape analysis of environmental education programs and providers.  The goal is a complete nationwide understanding of EE services and a suite of tools to help service providers use current data to support field advancements.

We need your help to put Indiana's programs on the map.

.

The Gen:Thrive Tools

Visit the Gen:Thrive Tools & Resources Page to discover all the ways the database can work for you.

Geospatial Hub

Here you'll find national and state maps showing current environmental education service providers.  Use supporting ArcGIS data layers to explore the intersection of EE coverage with environmental data, community demographics, K-12 school information, health data and much more.

You can view the tutorial videos on the Geospatial Hub home page or use the menu options along the top to jump right into exploring national, state, and local GIS maps.

.

National EE Directory & Data Dashboard

Search the Gen:Thrive database for EE programs and service providers.  You can filter by region, educational topics, the type of program offered, ages served and much more.

Use the map and data visualizations to support grant applications, identify areas for expansion of EE services, find partners in your region, or conduct research.  Be creative - the possibilities are endless!

Don't see your organization listed?  Help us complete the database!

To help us fully represent the field of EE in Indiana, we invite you to join the Gen:Thrive database.  By completing a profile for your organization, you'll be added to a public directory of EE providers.  The information you provide will also help EEAI meet several goals on behalf of environmental education practitioners and advocates in Indiana and across the Midwest.  This project will:

  • Help EEAI better understand the coverage of environmental education topics in Indiana and who has access to their instruction,
  • Allow EEAI to address gaps in EE coverage,
  • Help us make data-driven programming decisions,
  • Grow networking connections between Indiana’s formal and informal educators,
  • Help us better understand the current pathways to environmental education careers in Indiana,
  • Provide analytical tools for administrative and educator use,
  • Allow educators, administrators, and parents to access a public database of the environmental education opportunities,
  • Help us leverage funding for EE in the future!

Here’s what you do:

Visit genthrive.org/indiana. If you already have a login code for your organization, simply click the orange "Register with Code" button.
  • Not sure if you have an assigned code?  You can confirm by:
    • Searching your inbox/spam folder - you may have already gotten an email with your unique login code from EEAI.
    • Contacting Megan Sharp at resourcecoordinator@eeai.org.
  • If you DO NOT already have a unique login code, use the "Contact Us" button at the bottom of the page to request a custom login code.

Once you access your profile, the questionnaires will address your organizational operations, services provided, audiences served, and programming themes to help us better understand environmental education and engagement in the state.  It should take approximately 20 minutes to complete.  The profile is divided into two levels: organizational information and program information. After completing the organization-level questionnaire, please continue to the program survey, where you can provide detailed information about your key program offerings.  The more programs you can detail, the more accurate our coverage map and data will be.

Please note that the profile survey will function best using Google Chrome as your browser.  If you need some guidance on getting your profile set up and responding to each section of the profile entries, there are some detailed guidance videos on the Gen:Thrive FAQ Page.

Thank you for helping us build a strong network of program providers and expanding our impact throughout the state!  Please reach out to resourcecoordinator@eeai.org if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
